LO 03 saw the largest field
for Eggtoss yet.

Dawn Sullivan
made it to the final round for the second year in row,
o nly to be defeated by Billy Anderson and Tim Gato who took
top prize. Dan "Showtime" Dickinson wowed the crowd with some
spectacular over-the-shoulder catches in the last round.

It's a family affair. Frank
Sullivan and Mark Seitz, Frank brother-in-law,
battled for the LO Cribbage Trophy. This was obviously not the
first time these two had met. The card cutting was sharp and the
pegging was swift.

In the end,
Frank emerged victorious. And an all to familiar silence fell
on the car ride back to Boston.

Following
the success of 2002's O.O.T.M., the gods decided to give
this year's olympians a real challange...To blow up an impossible-to-blow-
up balloon! Actually the challenge was to create an extention
structure that could support the weight of an egg.

Stacy Lundberg
and Jeremy Jones were the hands down winners
of Odyssey. Their structure was a picture-perfect example
of stength and distance.

Chad Bernhesiel was crowned
homerun king for a second time.
Whispers emmediately began about a god winning an event.
Chad brushed the controversy off as jealousy and followed
up his award-winning performance by having a child later
that evening.

Chad was not able to
attend the awards ceremony due to
the fact that he was driving his wife Gigi, who was in labor,
to the hospital. God of Substitution, Josh Wolfgram, accepted
on Chad's behalf.

Again records were broken
at this year's Pass The Trash. 51 people
started with their dollars, playing for the cash prize. With a few tweaks
to the game play, the numbers dropped quickly this year. The
final 3, Adam Flaherty, Beth Wolfgram, and Steve Brown, provided
some last minute drama to wrap up the event. The cash master Steve
land himself a major booty and amazingly continued a tradition,
by giving the winnings to the Lawn Olympics Fund. Thanks Steve!!!

For the first time ever Horseshoes
ran like clock work. "An uneventful
event" some like to call it. On this rare occasion nearly all of
the top
seeds advanced to the later rounds and the finals were completed
w ith an easy victory by Joe Oliver and Danny Yeaton.

Humble winners,
Joe and Dan proved you don't have to be
loud to be champions.

There was another spirited
final for Croquet this year. Jason Marshall
had the trophy in his sights. He had the final opponent, John
Wolfgram, lined up for elimination on a short, 3 foot shot. Like it
was in slow motion, the "gimme" took a hop right before
John's ball, missing it entirely. On the next shot, John easily
connected with the stunned Jason's ball.

The original
winner from the first L.O. Croquet Tournement,
John Wolfgram, brought the trophy home.

Trivia was a new event
this year. In hopes of getting more Clan-oriented
competition, an intense battle of wit was created on the porch of
Riverside.

John Wolfgram,
Rene Smiley and Dan Dickinson had the perfect blend
of world, pop and logisitics knowledge to get The Ringers the win.

If there was a suprise hit
of Lawn Olympics 2003 it was the Scavenger
Hunt. Yet another attempt to create a event geared toward The Clans,
The Scavenger Hunt produced the most drama of the day.

Lead by a
frighteningly resourceful Jenn Doe, The Yokels cleaned house
on the hodge podge item list. The gang only missed one..."What
was the
name of Josh's Superhero name?"..."Wonder Shwag"

The Lawn Olympics Committee
took another crack at last year's
neglected apparel competition. This year: T-Shirts. Judging went only
slight better this year.

In the Homemade Catagory,
Alden Harkins beat an impressive field
of entries including the close second "Shirt with golf tees tied
to it".

Eric Knott
snagged the Manufactured Category. Anyone who looks and
acts like Sherriff Rosco P. Coltrane is alright in the eyes of the gods.

Clan 'Pone' repeated as the
#1 Clan. Undefeated and undisputed, The
Pones are best represented by member John Therrien (bottom right) who
delivers the message 'how about some competition next year'.
